I have noticed recently that all of my ferrets except for one act as though you are trying to kill them whenever you put them in some shallow water to play with. They act as though you are trying to drown them with the exception of Sherman who swims around and loves every minute of it. I have never seen a ferret act this way and I was curious if I was the only one. I asked around on several ferret forums and was told that many ferrets actually do enjoy the water which was interesting to me. If I could only figure out a way to get the rest of the guys to enjoy the splishing and splashing as much as Sherman then we could probably buy a kiddie pool and go for it. These guys definitely need more time to play in areas other then the house.

I have five wonderful ferrets that I love to death. I play with them daily and they sleep the rest of it away. I love my ferrets because they definitely make me a happier individual. They make me smile and they are hilarious to watch whenever they are war dancing. I love watching them jump around because that makes them look like they are doing the funky chicken dance but at the same time having a blast.

I got the first ferret a few years ago and have been steadily buying more and more. I am half tempted to start a ferret shelter but at the time I don’t have the money to support myself and do that. I will eventually figure it out and be able to financially do it but until then I will play with my babies and give them all the time in the world.

Ferret 101 is one of my favorite ferret sites. They are working on building a ferret community and they really want to help everyone that loves or likes ferrets learn more and more. So Google them and give them a shot. Mike is a good guy and he really tries. Ferrets are one of the best animals to have even though they are higher maintenance.
