Oil Filled Radiators

At heaters-airconditioning.co.uk we are often asked about the reasons why customers should buy an oil filled radiator over differenct types of heaters for example a ceramic heater. Therefore we have explained a few of their features in more detail. Oil filled radiators are ideal for longer term use and maintaining stable background heat with a silent operation. Oil filled radiators work by warming up special heat-conserving oil which then circulates throughout the coils and fins of the radiator to heat them. These coils and fins radiate the heat into the room through convection. Convection is where cold air is warmed by the heat radiating from the fins of the heater and the warmed air rises up drawing in the air below it which is colder than the air above and the process is repeated. Oil filled radiators never need the oil to be replaced or refilled because the oil is only warmed and not burnt. Some models are available with a safety cover to prevent injury from touching the heating elements. Oil filled radiators generally they have a lower surface temperature than other types of heaters like electric coil heaters.

The main features of ceramic heaters. Ceramics are used in a number of different types of heaters because they are relatively easy to heat without the fire and burn risk produced by electric coil heaters. Ceramic heaters use ceramic plates that are attached on the edges to a few metal coils; the coils are heated by running an electric current through the coils. The heat produced is readily absorbed by the ceramic plates and distributed into the air. Ceramic heaters do not become as hot; they release their heat more quickly, and cool down much more readily than their coil counterparts once the heater is turned off. Ceramic heaters are quicker to reach the desired temperature than older coil heaters making them more energy efficient. Some models of ceramic heaters contain multiple plates so that a smaller amount of ceramic material has to be heated by each element in order to be effective. Some ceramic heaters have built in fans with a thermostat making sure that they don’t overheat. To cool the ceramic plates down quickly the fan will continue to run once the appliance has been switched off. Most models of ceramic heaters have an anti-tilt detection unit on the base so that should the heater fall over the appliance will be shut down.
