World Smile Day 2010
The smiley face symbol was designed in 1963 by Mr Harvey Ball, and has gone on to be the most recognisable symbol of kindness and good cheer in the world. World Smile Day is always on the first Friday of October, and this year it falls on 1 October.


Fireworks Display in Weymouth 2010
Remember Remember the 5th of November. One of the Borough's biggest annual community events is coming back to Weymouth for 2010! On Friday 5th November 2010, many thousands of local children with their families will gather on Weymouth Esplanade to enjoy the Free Traditional Community Guy Fawkes Celebrations and stunning free international Fireworks Display.


Falmouth Oyster Festival, Cornwall 2010
The oyster dredging season is approaching, and what better way to celebrate this time than by visiting the Falmouth Oyster Festival, 14th - 17th October. Timed to coincide with the start of the oyster harvesting season in October, this event celebrates the excellence of Cornish seafood and one of the last remaining oyster fisheries still dredging under sail and oar.
