Foundation Help
Hello all. I've been searching for a mineral foundation for my too darn pale skin. I would say I'm ivory...but cosmetics companies don't seem to agree with me. I used to use foundation from aromaleigh. It was great! It matched my skin perfectly and I didn't have an allergic reaction to it. Since she's stopped selling I haven't been able to find anything to replace it. I've gotten samples from several places, but they're all too dark, even on my slightly summer-tanned skin. Is there a company or product that you've found and love?
question for posters who are 30+
I'm going to be 34 in October, and I constantly have people thinking I'm in my early twenties. Every time I tell someone my age, they act so surprised. Just two days ago, I went to movies and got charged student ticket price, instead of adult ticket. Things like this happen all the time.
It HAS to be because I've stayed out of the sun for the past 15 years. I think my bangs make me look young, too....but I think it's mostly the lack of sun.
Anyone else???
Getting Rid of a Tan
I went to the beach recently, and in my excitement to get into the water, I forgot to reapply sunscreen. Now I have a tan, and it looks horrible. I can cover up the tan on my body until it fades, but not on my face. I'm super-self conscious about it right now; I tan pretty easily and I'm a couple shades darker than my usual skin tone right now. Not only is covering up blemishes a problem since my foundation is so light, but the way my skin splotches and the way the patches of melanin concentrate themselves I look so dirty.
So my question is: how do I get rid of the tan? Please don't tell me to wait it out. I'm looking for a quick, effective fix. Honestly, since my intentions are purely cosmetic I don't care if my skin is damaged for a short time, I just want this tan to go away. Please help me out; my appearance is my security blanket and if I'm dissatisfied with it, it affects my overall life performance. Thanks so much <3
KP rubra faceii
Hi! This is my first post here. I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, and I hope it's appropriate for the community.
I would say that I have pretty pale skin, but it is partially because I have a very common skin condition called keratosis pilaris that has always made me too self conscious to show a lot of skin! Its fairly common, but I have it in a kind of awkward place. Along with my upper arms and thighs, I have a rough pink rash along my jaw, covering the bottom half of my cheeks. I also have been teased for blushing my whole life. Especially in winter and under stress, the skin on my face becomes bright pink!
So while most of me is very pale, my face is visibly darker (well, redder) than the rest of my body. Now, thankfully its not very severe - it was HORRIBLE when I was a teenager but it has improved with age. But I am still unhappy that I am unable to achieve a pale, even skin tone. For the past year I've been wearing facial sunscreen and avoiding sunlight (with a few accidental tans here and there) but it has only improved it slightly. Recently I bought a skin lightener; Palmers Fade Cream (it was what I could find at walmart, lol, let me know if there might be a better option for this!) and I've been using it every day for almost a week.
Do any of you have KP rubra faceii, or any other form of KP? I'm just wondering if this skin lightener will improve it at all, or if it will irritate it more. They say there is no cure for KP, but I'm determined to find something other than make up (I don't wear make up because I just don't have the skill or time to apply it!) that will wash out the pink from my face! Do you know of any other methods shown to lighten KP?

Skin lightening for a newbie?
Hello! I'm very new to skin lightening, the only thing I've tried using is lemon juice to lighten my face, which isn't working very well. I've tried using lighter foundations to get a lighter skin-tone (just on my face), but this is the lightest I could get. What do you suggest to lighten my face/arms/everything? Any home remedies?, or specific make-up brands for foundations? I've heard about Asian brand whitening sheets, how do those work? Could you recomend any brands? I've also heard that you can only get your skin about 3 shades lighter than your natural skin color, is this true? Thanks for reading, and thanks for your help! I'm looking for any advice, really. ^^
I went to the University of South Florida's Ladies Football Clinic today and got my picture with Head Coach Skip Holtz!

Tinted moisturizer + L'oreal True Match
Hello, pale ladies,
I'm looking for a good tinted moisturizer that isn't too dark/orangey and won't turn orange as the day goes on. I've been trying to streamline my makeup, go for a more natural look, help my skin improve, etc. etc., so it doesn't particularly need to have heavy coverage or anything; I just want it to match my skin. Does anyone here have any suggestions?
I tried the CoverGirl tinted moisturizer in the lightest shade and it's a little too dark for me. Funny how something so sheer can still look weird, eh? If it helps, I have access to Ulta, along with all the major drugstores. I saw a lot of choices at Ulta (one in particular seemed to match my skin well, although the name escapes me), but I didn't want to drop $35 or $40 on a bottle until I got some opinions.
Also, has anyone here used L'Oreal True Match makeup and had a reaction to it? I bought the W1 because of how pale it was -- it was the closest color match in a foundation I've ever had, it was almost a little too pale -- but my skin didn't like it or something. I didn't break out, but my face felt like it was burning a little bit, and there were a couple of red areas on my face after I took it off. I know there's a warning on the label about that, so I won't use it in the future, except maybe as a spot concealer -- the color really is good. Anyway, I just thought it was interesting because my skin really isn't that sensitive.
Sun tan/burn
Guess what I got a sun burn. it took an extra 20 minutes before it reapplied to get it. Lovely. anyways now my arms are tanned because that's what the burn turned in to sob sob, but the burn is also still around. any ideas to get rid of my lovely sunburn and make my arms as white as my belly again :). I am religiously applying an SPF of 50 every hour that I am outside. I am Using Ocean Potions anti aging stuff and it works wonders. other then that any ideas?

I was also curious how many people on here suffer from heliophobia as well?
Hiya! Long time member, first time poster, yadda, yadda.
Anyway. Right click and view image for larger.

Stayed off the sun since I was 14, now I'm 21, using SPF 50. :p I tan very easily. Eep!
Which concealer and which foundation??
Hey everyone =)
I'm looking for a concealer as well as for a foundation. I'm pretty pale and have a cool undertone but dunno which foundation I should give a try. Besides I have some blemishes and little acne probs. I tried Revlon Colorstay in Ivory but I don't know... actually the color is ok it's light enough but the difference between face and neck is still too much to make me satisfied. Before I bought Mac liquid foundation but it was so... clumpsy and I didn't like it at all.
So, any recommendations?
Red Knees
Ok so here is a weird question, red knees how in the heck do you get rid of them. i have to spend a lot of time on my knees and the just wont go away. ok in the winter murder in the summer.....any tips or suggestions? I do exfoliate at least three times a week and put lotion on 3 times a day (to my elbows and knees) but yea...still red.... COME ON LOL its like when i go swimming, pale pale pale pale BAM RED KNEES sticks out like a sore thumb.
Now that the introductions are over
Or; YAPQ [Yet Another Parasol Question] I have some serious questions here for becoming truly translucent.
1. sunguardsunprotection.com. Basically, what do you guys think? If I'm going to be wearing clothes, as one normally does when outside, I'd like to have them protect my skin. Putting on sunblock under my clothes is something that I'll never end up doing.
2. Gloves and parasols. Yeah, I have a little bit of an adoration of Lolita style and would love to incorperate a parasol into my 'walk to school, go outside during the hottest and most dangerous part for gym, walk the .7 of a mile back home' everyday routine. I'm fairly certain I'm not making an assumption in that clear, translucent is bad, lighter is better [and suits my summer look] and that cotton is best[for gloves, anyway]. So, do I go for a $10 cloth oriental stylewww.amazon.com/AIS-White-Cloth-Parasol-40WH/dp/B003DD06BO/ref=wl_it_dp_o $15-$25 UV protection umbrella [yes, umbrella say I]www.amazon.com/Paradise-Floating-Cloud-Umbrella-Anti-UV/dp/B001SWA8XS/ref=sr_1_49 rather more expensive lace Lolita beautiful thing.www.amazon.com/Old-Fashion-Clothing-Parasol-WHITE/dp/B000E3C650/ref=wl_it_dp_o
Gloves-yey or nay, useful or useless? I'm talking about shoulder high white cotton, perhaps washed in the Sun Guard stuff . I own a vintage pair, that look like this, only twice as long - shoulder high, and with three pearl(y) buttons right under the wrist.
3. Pantyhose. Hated stuff that it is, I can't find it pale enought for me. Does anyone know of a very pale, cheap, comfy pantyhose? Or perhaps sheer white tights?
All my money got magicked into Amazonian gift cards. I have about $50. Halp iz apriciate-ed
Why am I asking this? My school has a trip for my grade, we go to DC for five days. I'm really exited, as I haven't been there for years, but school trips mean this: no sleep - breakfast at 7:45, lights out at 11, lots of standing around, lots of walking, lots of time in the sun, under the watchful eyes of aids that think that burnt umber is a healthy colour for white people. So, no "ma'am I need to go put on more sunblock every half hour or so that I normally do when outside. This trip is in the middle of May. Last year, I got a second degree sunburn in April during my 45 min gym class at 8.30 in the morning. This is a problem. Also, school rules say no hats. Ever. Period.* [As if I could wear a hat without having to take it off every few minutes for one reason or another]

Recent, flash in a dark room...

Same day, but this is me with more flash!
My kitty has the same problem with flash.
I know that it's very early in the year, but what do you guys think/deal with the pool/beach in summer. I'm of the opinion that if I use sunblock, shade and hats religiously I won't tan, but are there any other precautions that will pay off? Staying inside isn't happening. I went archive diving, and saw that several people have parasols. Is there something specific I should look for, or is the fact of carrying shade around with you the main idea. I ma vain. Very-much so. I want a pretty white cloth and wood parasol.
Has anyone read the recent [Mar 29] New Yorker? Methinks there is much pale loving among the ads.
Cover(with pretty red butterflies). Why yes, I do have a scanner. I just am wayyyyy to lazy to use it, as it is not connected to my computer, nor is it on the same floor as my computer.
Very first ad! I want that green shirt so badly, but I feel that the picture is saying "it is springs, and see her? She is outside, and looks healthy. And not tan(!)
And this one is a lot paler in rl, my cam is either too dark or flashed into oblivion...
My favorite, by far. I even have similar glasses!
 I look daft, don't I...
Remember what I said about the Oblivion? This is my hand on flash...

New + photos! :)
I just recently discovered this today, and i am SO thankful I found this sight. I am 17 now and have a very very hard time finding a foundation the right shade for me. Right now I am using L'oreal True Match in C1, and it is too dark for me. I have gone to lancome to find a foundation, but all of them were too dark, same for clinique. I have not tried MAC because I have heard good and bad reviews about it. I have very very sensitive skin, and right now the only skin product I can use to wash my face is Dove Sensitive Skin daily wash. And for a moisturiser I use sunscreen, and I will leave extra virgin olive oil on my face for 3 minutes and wash off with warm water and it does wonders. I still break out, but it's not horrible. Anyways, if you guys have any advice or tips on what foundation I should check out, please comment! I am willing to try anything. But, here are some photos of my lovely pale skin. I love my pale skin, don't get me wrong, I just also love having the even skin tone. This is when I had dyed my hair a chocolate brown:

Attention Need New Powder!!

help! pale skin in south africa dying from sunburns
ok, here's the deal. i'm from san francisco and have been in south africa for 3 weeks now. i will be here for another 2 months. it's super hot here from 7am-7pm. no air conditioning, in the sun a lot, i'm sweating a lot. so, because the sunscreen i put on my face has been sweating off due to the heat, i decided to double up and use a sports sunscreen that's 40 underneath shiseido's foundation and sunscreen in one (that one is 40 as well). well, the sunscreen seems to mostly stay in place even when i sweat, however the sports sunscreen is making me break out horribly in acne.
are there any brands i can get in south africa (or that i can order online and have mailed to me) that wouldn't cause me acne and wouldn't come off with the sweat?
