Now I’m a huge fan of the P90x and think it’s a great workout. The P90x2 was designed as a continuation of that workout which I think is an even better idea since it keeps people working out and after a while the same P90x workouts might drive you a little mad. But it’s led people to start looking for a P90x2 recovery drink.

A trend I’ve been seeing which disturbs me is some fitness websites talking about a P90x2 recovery drink and actually calling it a real thing. It’s not. The P90x 2 recovery drink is actually the exact same as a P90x recovery drink. The only thing which changed is the workout guys, you don’t actually need to change your drink.

There was a new formula for the P90x Results and Recovery Formula a while ago – but that doesn’t mean it’s a P90x-2 recovery drink. It’s not even called that. But some people (and I don’t mean BeachBody here I’m talking aboutunscrupulous website owners looking to make a quick buck) are trying to pass it off as a drink which you need for the P90x2 workout.

Using a Recovery Drink for the P90x2

If you’re just starting to use a recovery drink now that you’ve started the P90x2? First of all congratulations for making it through without using a recovery drink. I always say that recovery drinks help you get better results and certainly help keep you in less pain – but it’s certainly possible to do the workout without one. Now that you’re looking for recovery drinks take a look at our recommended drinks on the top and right hand side – the same drinks which worked for the P90x will work for the P90x2.

If you’ve been using a recovery drink (whether it’s the results and recovery formula or a P90x recovery drink alternative) you can continue to use the same drink on your P90x2 workout. My same advice remains. You are, of course, free to try different drinks but try to give each one at least a decent try before moving on to another.

If you feel like starting your new workout with a new drink then that’s a good way to freshen up your workout routine a bit. But don’t fall into the trap of constantly hopping between drinks and blaming it on the supplements when you’re not doing the work properly. If you’re using one of therecommendedrecovery drinks then you’ll get results with the P90x2 – if you’re doing the work.

The P90x2 workout itself does focus on recovery workouts and stretches as well. It might not have a specific drink but there is a new section. There’s also a P90x2nutrition plan which you should stick to. It’s the same as the first one – do the work and you’ll get the results. There’s no magic foods or supplements here. There’s things you can do to help yourself but it’ll all come down to the effort you put in.

The P90X-2 certainly requires more workout equipment if you want to follow it fully. There’s the usual alternatives you can use instead but I wouldn’t suggest passing up on the recovery drink. I know there’s a lot of people who don’t like the idea of using supplements. But I don’t like the idea of not getting the results I want and being in pain while I work out. If you’re following nutrition properly then you’re not hurting yourself – you’re actually giving your body what it wants with a recovery drink. A decent P90x recovery drink is the one thing I would say isn’t optional. It’ll make a difference to any workout and with something as hard as this you’ll be thankful to have the help.

It’s not as popular as the Whey Gold Standard but that’s been around for much longer and the recovery drink market is smaller than the whey protein market. Don’t let that fool you though, this thing has all the earmarks of an Optimum Nutrition drink and it’s not afraid to show it. Some people get both the After Max as a recovery drink and Gold Standard as a whey protein, but you don’t need to go this far.

Disadvantages as A P90x Recovery Drink Alternative

It wouldn’t be a review though if I just told you about what a great P90x recovery drink alternative this was however. So I do have one small problem with it.

It might not seem like a big deal, and really it isn’t. But sometimes it is nice to get a smaller sample size and it’s what I usually do when I’m trying a new P90x recovery drink alternative for the first time. And buying larger tubs like this really saves you a lot of money in the long run, those small tubs can really add up.

The original P90x recovery drink – the P90x results and recovery formula! I don’t think I’d be doing my job properly if I wasn’t reviewing the original P90x recovery drink as well as alternatives so bias aside I’ll give it a fair look.

While most of this blog reviews different P90x recovery drink alternative variations (and if you’re looking for a good alternative we have plenty to suggest) but the original P90x recovery drink from Beach Body which is meant for the P90x in the first place.

I’m a huge fan of giving people a choice which is why I mainly review p90x recovery drink alternatives but the original results and recovery formula is known to get good results and in all honestly it is hard to fault it. It’s not perfect, but then you’ll find faults in any recovery drink at the end of the day. There’s not anything overly wrong with the original, it’s not that it doesn’t get results.

As always, the way to judge any Recovery drink is by reviews and there certainly are some really good ones out there calling this the bestpost workout recovery drink, and while some people do have problems with it it’s usually something like the taste or the higher price. For actual results though, it looks pretty good and it’s certainly a popular drink.

So Beach Body have came up with a great recovery drink and a lot of people are getting great results. In my eyes the only place they’re going wrong is charging so much for it and maybe only offering oneflavorand size. It’s probably because they offer it directly to people who already own the P90x and it doesn’t occur to people they could use an alternative recovery drink. It’s good from a business sense I suppose but at least the recovery drink does get results. The advantage here over using a p90 recovery drink alternative is that you know you’re getting something good quality.

Of course if you’re reading this review anyway then we do have some great reviews of p90x recovery drink alternatives which work well, usually cost less and come in a lot more variety. It’s not that I’m biased or saying the original P90x recovery drink isn’t good – I just don’t understand why you would buy it for the extra cost unless you didn’t know what else to get. It’s not that Beach Bodys P90x recovery drink doesn’t offer anything – it’s that alternatives offer something else for less money but if you’re already working out with this one then it might be worth going with.

With the tagline ‘Less Pain, more gain’ it’s not hard to see what Endurox were aiming for with the Endurox R4 and this has certainly been pulling it’s weight in the P90x recovery drink alternative arena.

The Endurox R4 recovery drink has actually had at least one mention on the P90x recovery drink alternative site before but it’s certainly long overdue it’s first real review. It’s been a massive leader in recovery drinks for a long time now and with their different versions they’ve gone from strength to strength.

Now we’ve never been one for facts and figures, because these can usually be fudged and played with but having used Endurox myself I feel comfortable sharing this figure:

It focuses on recovery over performance but it’s certainly a decent trade off since it allows you to put in the extra work and really get yourself results. These guys have been in the market for years so they really know their stuff and that’s one of the main things I look for. Some recovery drinks can be hard to take because… well frankly they taste bad. Workouts can be hard enough to stick with without having to drink a horrible tasting recovery drink. Endurox R4 comes in 10 different flavors which gives you more choice than any other recovery drink I think we’ve reviewed before, and I really like that. Lemon Lime seems to be the most popular but each to their own and they certainly have some good looking options.

They also give a lot of flexibility in the size department, so you can go bigger or smaller if you want. Smaller tubs are good if you’re doing smaller workouts (although not really great for the P90x) since not only

do you have to wait for delivery (although this isn’t long if you’re going through Amazon) but smaller tubs cost you more. Larger tubs save you a lot of money in the long run but if you’re getting a large tub of anything make sure it’s a good quality drink – with Endurox you’ve nothing to worry about but it’s still good that you have the option.

What Have Other People Said About Endurox?

Reviews for the Endurox R4 has been great from all sorts of people from athletes to everyday people like you and me. In all sorts of areas including workouts like INSANITY and the P90x.

Now this can change (and might have done by the time you look at it if I haven’t updated yet) but Amazon usually has a sale on Endurox which means you get it really cheap. Have a look at the different flavors because the sale can vary between them and there might not be one but there *usually* is and it’s really worth going for if they’re on. Heck it’s worth the full price but who wants to pay more even if it is for Endurox, right?

Whether you’re looking for the P90x protein bar as a stand alone supplement for your P90x workout or you prefer to eat and want to use it as a P90x recovery drink alternative – there’s something for you here. TheP90X Peak Performance Protein Bars were produced by BeachBody to go alongside the P90x workout and they’ve been getting some pretty good reviews.

Generally I suggest people go with a recovery drink instead of a protein bar. It’s a liquid already, meaning your body can get what it needs faster from it. It’s easier to drink than it is to eat (there’s some pretty good tasting drinks out there) and you don’t have to workout with a ‘brick’ of protein sitting in your belly. It’s also a lot cheaper to use the drinks than it is the protein bars. There’s an example of some people talking about their preference here.

Still, some people don’t like using a shake. And one of the great things about using a workout like the P90x is that you have the freedom to do things the way you want to. It’s not that the protein bar is bad – it’s just that I think it’s better to use a drink. But it’s each to their own. So I thought I’d take a quick look at the P90x protein bar from BeachBody.

They’relow carb high protein bars which makes them ideal for using rather than a snack if you’re trying to recover from your workout without having to worry too much about fat.Albeitexpensive, they can be used as a backup in the cupboard to replace a snack while you can use your normal recovery drink post-workout.

I don’t suggest some crazy ‘protein bar diet’ here. The P90x (and the P90x2 now) come withnutritionalplans for a reason. You need a proper (and healthy) balanced diet. You can use one here and there for a snack. You could, technically, even use one after each workout instead of a recovery drink.

But they shouldn’t replace your meals. Not for your workout success and certainly not for your health. Keep it in moderation – you’d spend a fortune eating nothing but protein bars anyway.

There’s plenty of P90x recovery bar alternatives out there. I’ve actually looked at some in the past as a suggested P90x recovery drink alternative. Basically if you can use any protein bar as an alternative. Look for something high in protein and low in carbs. If you can find something low in price – better yet.
