Fitness Guru Tony Horton on Creating P90X
In 2002, Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler, noticing a gap in products available for people who already had some level of fitness, tasked Tony Horton to create an extreme fitness program so that users "could take it to the next level." He also hired Ned Farr to film its creation so users could "look behind the curtain" and see the process themselves.
For the next two years, Tony consulted various fitness experts and experimented with a wide variety of disciplines to find the most effective moves for what became 12 different workouts based on a training concept called periodization, or "muscle confusion," and several 90-day test groups were also conducted to further refine the fitness system.
The video diary documentary Ned Farr put together of this process originally appeared every month on Beachbody’s website and can now be found on YouTube.

P90x2 Review Day 48. P90X2 Base + Back is a new twist to the first P90X “Legs & Back”. Assuming you have gone through the 90-day challenge of P90X, you know that the P90X Legs & Back routine will kick your butt and at times have you pleading for mercy…in a wonderful way! This very same tradition of monster workouts goes on with P90X2 Base + Back, however, this time around you are going to encounter a completely new group of pullup movements and plenty of plyometrics. Indeed, this really is gonna be challenging but at the conclusion of it all, you are going to emerge stronger and much more powerful than before.
X2 Ab ripper was much more synergistic in nature than the original Ab Ripper X. It actually felt like an excerpt from P90X’s Core Synergistics. At the end of X2 Ab Ripper, I didn’t feel as exausted as I usually feel compared to the original Ab Ripper X. Mason Twist is a heck of a move! However, I did get a great abdominal workout learned some new moves that will take some time to master.

P90x2 Review Day 47, X2 Yoga. Reducing the time by about 30 minutes to around an hour the yoga has been condensed from the P90X version. Taking the best moves and trying to give it a constant flow, the standing balance moves were all removed and the warm up made shorter. These isometric exercises will increase the power and range of motion of your stabilizer muscles.
