Last September, Justin Bieber made his first of two appearances on "CSI." In the episode, he played a troubled teen named Jason McCann. Amid plot twists and bomb explosions, fans were left wondering if young Jason was more trouble than he seemed.
"CSI" star George Eads, who plays Bieber's foil in the episode (Nick Stokes), revealed that Jason wouldn't live to see another day by the episode's end. "One of my crew guys goes, 'Man, you're going to split the country down the middle — half of them are going to hate you and half of them are going to love you,' " Eads said. "In the context of the story, he deserved it. I think in a way I was also at fault for killing Taylor Swift, too. Man, I'm going to have to stay away from a lot of people. Tell Miley Cyrus not to come on our show."
Bieber told MTV News earlier this month that he really loved being involved in the whole process of making the episode, including his fake death.
"Yeah, I get killed in the episode. I definitely get murdered," he revealed. "It was really cool because I actually — I get shot, like, several times," he revealed. "I fall down, and there's fake blood and everything. It's crazy how the whole process is."
Bieber also shared that he enjoyed stretching his bad-boy muscle for the part. "I'm not a bad person, so it's funny to play a bad person," he explained.
As for why the pop star chose "CSI" for his acting debut, he said, "I wanted to do something that's going to be challenging for me, and it's definitely going to be. It has been."

Palmer tells MTV News how she gave her alien title character equal mix of sex appeal and swagger. By Kara Warner

Yes, Hollywood actresses can rely on teams of stylists, makeup artists and lighting technicians to keep them looking glamorous onscreen. But even offscreen, these starlets always seem so put-together. How do they do it? MTV News set out to find some answers when we caught up with rising star Teresa Palmer, who has two films on the way, this week's alien adventure "I Am Number Four" and next month's "Take Me Home Tonight."
In "I Am Number Four," Palmer plays the very kick-ass, smoldering alien warrior Number Six. Palmer's character, along with Number Four (Alex Pettyfer), are two of nine extraordinarily gifted aliens sent to Earth from their dying planet, Lorien. Unfortunately the evil beings that destroyed Lorien, called Mogodorians, have come to Earth to hunt them. In the film, Palmer has a series of intense battle sequences and, one in particular involves her character walking away from a house she's just set on fire, as it explodes behind her.
We asked Palmer about the technicalities of filming that scene and, more important, how she managed to look so calm, cool and sexy while doing it.
"There was a real explosion," Palmer revealed. "How we did it was I walked out of a house, and had to do this sort of sexy swagger as I walked out," she recalled. "I did like a hair flip, had my aviator sunglasses on, and then there would be two guys running behind me with a big green screen running and putting it in. And then we'd call cut and we'd move away and then they'd blow up the house," she said. "Then they composited it together so it looked like I was walking away from the fire."
Movie magic at work! We also wondered whether the Aussie actress had channeled anyone or listened to any particular songs to pull off that swagger.
"Not really for that walk in particular. I mean, that was very difficult compared to how it looks onscreen," she admitted. "I had to do that about 12 times because I'm walking in these really high combat boots, and I'm walking on sand and I'm trying to make it look sexy and do the whole like head thing and sunglasses, and they kept falling down," she explained. "Then I would fall over, so it just wasn't fluid at all! I think that was the only usable take that they got, [the one] in the movie."
Palmer added that she did use music to get into Number Four's combat mood.
"In terms of getting into my character, I would listen to a lot of underground rap and hip-hop like Masta Ace, Mobb Deep. Very badass stuff," Palmer said with a smile.

As expected, Justin Bieber's feature film debut, "Never Say Never," fared well at the box office in its opening weekend. The 3-D movie came in at #2, not far behind Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston's "Just Go With It," which bested Biebs by $700,000 in ticket sales.
And given the dedication of the teen star's Beliebers, it's likely the movie will continue to pull in the cash over the next few weeks. But for those who've seen the film and were left wanting more, MTV News enlisted director Jon Chu to address our five burning questions about the film.
How Many Fan Videos Made the Final Cut? "We put a lot [in the film]," Chu said. "When we first started the film, we asked a lot of people to submit lip-syncing videos, fan videos, to see where it could fit into the fabric of our movie and we found lots of fun ways. Sometimes it's a screen grab on some of the Twitter messages that he gets sent, sometimes it's part of a mosaic, where they're all singing to Justin wherever they may be in the world. I don't know the exact number. ... But there are a lot we used for just a little bit, so you have to kind of go back and take a picture of it so you can see yourself."
Any Extra Footage for the DVD? "On a regular movie, I usually have three or four terabytes of footage, which is a lot. I shoot a lot," Chu explained. "For this movie we had over 30 terabytes of film. This goes from his youth, to him playing sports to him on the road before we got there and then us when we actually got there, as well as all of the 3-D cameras we had. There were 11 3-D cameras shooting the concerts. There's a lot of footage. There is a lot of stuff I wish we could've fit into this movie and hopefully we'll find a way to fit in another one.
"There's really funny, great stuff, but our main thing was to tell the core story of how he got here as a human being and his relationship with his family, his new family and how he fought to accomplish his dreams. We really laser-focused on those things."
What Are the DVD Plans? "We're thinking about what other things you could use this material for because there is a lot of it; a lot of funny stuff," the director teased. His pranks, and all those things — we have some in the movie, but we have a lot more, and we've been talking about how to creatively put it in a DVD. Not just, 'Oh, here's a clip of this, and here's a clip of that,' but to wrap it up in some sort of form. We're working on that now."
When Will the DVD Be Released? "I don't know the exact date, but I think it would be this year at some point. [Possibly] in time for the holiday season."
Has Paramount Asked For a Sequel? "In my mind, when I started this, I always told Paramount that it's the first of a trilogy. This is the first step of his career and it would be really interesting to come back in six years and see where he is and what's happened, and then six years after that. Whether that's a reality or not, we'll see, but I know that this is a really fascinating story. It's an origin story of someone I look up to and respected a lot through this process and I didn't know that I would necessarily."

Making for quite the surprise, reality star Angelina Pivarnick received a marital proposal from beau of a few months David Kovaks at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (February 16).
The "Jersey Shore" babe and her man were at the Sachika Fall 2011 fashion show at Style360 when he got down on one knee to ask his lady for her hand in marriage. .
Describing the scene, a source told Us magazine, "David got down on one knee and asked for Angelina's hand. The ring is platinum and 2.5 karats."
Meanwhile, another insider dished to People, "She was completely surprised [and said], 'Are you serious?' She looked really happy and shocked."
The source added, "She covered her face with her hand and dropped ring on carpet because she was so nervous. He then picked her up and they hugged and kissed."

Beyoncé never really seems to slow down, so when the time came to choose a director for her concert special DVD "I Am ... World Tour," the singer decided to take on those duties too. It's an accomplishment the singer jokes may have sparked those pregnancy rumors.
"I was pregnant with this DVD, yes!" she joked to MTV News.
The DVD hits stores on November 30, but fans can catch the 90-minute "I Am ... World Tour" TV special when it airs on ABC Thanksgiving night at 9:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé opened up about what it was like to sit in the director's chair.
"Well, I've done some co-directing for music videos [but] this was definitely a big step for me, and I'm so thrilled," she said at the New York City screening for the flick.
Beyoncé said she was completely hands-on, deciding which moments made the final cut and which ones wound up on the cutting-room floor. "It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it."
Her parents, Mathew and Tina Knowles, who also attended the screening over the weekend, said the film gives B the recognition she deserves after years of collaborating on many of her own videos.
"I'm really excited about this because Beyoncé has been making little short films and really helping to direct her videos," Tina told us. "So it's nice that she'll get credit for doing something that she really loves doing and that she's very talented at."
Dad Mathew recalled all of the effort his superstar daughter put into the special. "I'm so proud," he said. "I had an opportunity [to see the film], I've been to Houston with a screening; I've been to Bentonville, [Arkansas], with a screening, and to see the excitement from the audience, what an incredible job Beyoncé did as a director in the editing, I'm just so proud. Hopefully, all the fans go out and get the DVD and soundtrack and look at that ABC special coming on Thanksgiving."
