How to make fabulous Puppy Hair Bows for your Dog! learn to make dog bows! EASY and cheap!
So the 5th avenue bowtique hair bow instructions are super easy and great to learn how to make hair bows for little girls (or big girls)…whatever, you know what I mean by that- I’m talking about PEOPLE. But, what about our furry little friends? Guess what? It’s basically the same process! Here are some simple variations that will allow you to make hair bows for your little purse puppy in just a few minutes. The best part is that this hair bow making project will cost you about $30 (less if you have a glue gun already), and should yield 20 hair bows on the FIRST DAY! That’s a deal, huh? The simple instructions will make this a quick, and painless process!
First off, start by purchasing the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions- $12. This will cover the basics on how to make your hair bows. You’ll need a glue gun and glue sticks ($5), and some ribbon ($10 for 20 1/2 yard cuts at a craft store). You’ll also want to pick up a couple of other supplies highlighted in our instructions ($5), including either french clips (about $2.50 for 25 at the craft store). You’ll want to purchase the SMALLEST ones possible. I was told by the owner of an upscale puppy boutique that their customers LOVE these french clips for their long haired dogs because they stay in really well! Or, if you prefer the plastic rubber band for your puppy bow, you should be able to grab a couple hundred of these for $1 at the dollar store!
Once you finish rounding up these supplies it is time to get started!!!!! You’ll need about 2 hours to devote to learning to make the bow itself. Once you learn this, you’ll be able to create bows for dogs, or girls- it’s just about the same thing! Assuming you’ll want to create dog bows this time, go ahead and decide whether you want to use the french clip or pony o. If you plan to use the french clips, you can simply follow along in the instructions in Chapter 7- “completing your bow”/attaching to a French Clip. Should you decide to create a pony O, follow the directions in Chapter 16: Gymnastics/Cheer bows. This chapter discusses how to attach a hair bow to a Pony O for girls and is the EXACT same concept!
Happy bow making!

Hair bow instructions- learn to make your own bows! Get excited about this hobby!

Now here’s a hobby you can get excited about!
5th Avenue Bowtique has been teaching hair bow classes in Houston since 2007. We have see over 1,000 students attend our classes, and have met many, many great women (and a few dads!) who have been delighted to learn this fun hobby!
The majority of these people have attended our hair bow classes to receive instructions on how to make their bows because they wanted to learn to make bows for personal use. Sure, we have had plenty of students attend so they could begin a retail business…and these ladies have been successful. However, the great majority of them had the goal of creating bows for the children in their lives.
This is a great hobby! There is an unusual feeling of satisfaction that comes from creating a hand crafted item for a loved one. Often, this gift is given without concern for the financial savings. But, instead, for the satisfaction that was granted in creating the hair bow, and in receiving the bow!
Bows are an excellent gift! You can place them on top of a present in place of a gift bow to create a little extra creative detail.
The 5th Avenue Bowtique instructions can teach you how to make your own hair bows in just a few hours. So, now you don’t need to attend one of our hair bow classes in person to achieve the same results! These internet based instructions will teach you how to make many kinds of bows from basic bows to custom bows, corker hair bows, pinwheel bows, pageant bows, cheer bows and more. You can purchase these instructions at www.5thavenuebowtique.com or www.etsy.com in our ebay store- Hair Bow Professor.
5th Avenue Bowtique learn to make Hair Bows Instructions Safety Tips!

The 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions ebook is a complete guide to making hair bows. With over 350 pages, and 600+ photos, the guide gives instructions on how to make many different projects. The 5th Avenue Bowtique ebook is based on the 5th Avenue Bowtique program, a technique offered in our ‘hands on’ hair bow classes in Houston, Texas.
I want to share two tips from the 5th Avenue Bowtique ebook today. They are safety tips, which I feel will be helpful to anyone who stumbles across this blog post on the internet. Regardless of if you purchase our instructions, these tips will likely apply to the technique you plan to use.
CORKER HAIR BOWS:
The 5th Avenue Bowtique instructions call for grosgrain ribbon. This is because grosgrain is between 98% and 100% polyester. This is essential to the success of achieving the CURL in your ribbon. DO NOT USE FABRIC RIBBON. There are some ribbons on the market that are a “fabric” (aka not grosgrain, organza or satin). STEER CLEAR- They are a serious fire hazard and are very likely to cause a fire.
I am aware of a real life situation in which this almost happened. One of my former students (who attended a 5th Avenue Bowtique class) was making corkers at home, and very quickly learned this lesson! Be smart! Avoid fabric ribbon!
HEAT SEALING WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND FANS:
I want to introduce this second safety tip which is also covered in our hair bow instructions. If you plan to heat seal your ribbon using a lighter, this is typically a very SIMPLE task. However, you will need to do one simple thing to make sure you don’t singe the underside of your ribbon…and that you don’t cause a fire.
First off, I am going to assume that you will be indoors while you are making bows. So, make sure you are not standing directly near the current of a fan. Similarly, you will want to make sure that, if you have air conditioning running, you are not standing in an area where there is a strong current of air traveling past you while you are heat sealing your ribbon.
These simple tips will make your projects more simple. You can find additional tips and tricks in our Hair Bow Instructions at www.5thavenuebowtique.com. We have an entire appendix devoted to special tips that you’ll love!
5th Avenue Bowtique Instructions for Making Flip Flops or Hair Bows

The 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions provide inspiration for a whole lot of different projects. One project builds on the next so you can improve your skills and learn more advanced techniques by doing different projects. After you learn to make a basic bow, it’s not too difficult to learn how to make a custom hair bow. If you can make one of our simple “loopy” bows, you’ll be able to make our “funky loopy bow” (aka multi-layered) pretty easily as well. So, when you ask yourself the question of what youcan to do after you learn how to do a simple basic bow, the answer is “A LOT!”
First off, once the instructions teach you to make a basic bow, you’ll be able to easily adapt and change it to create a pinwheel bow. They’re almost the same. Secondly, you will be able to add embellishments to your hair bow like bottle caps, center resins, and maribou feathers- EASY. And, you can also make some really cute flip flops! This is literally a 15 minute project…do it on your way out the door to the beach!
My photo shows 1.5″ large bows. We love them here in Texas because they’re big and look adorable on little girls’ feet. You might want smaller bows, though, depending on where you live. Anyway, this is a very simple project that you can do once you learn how to make a basic bow! I purchased my flip flops for about $1.50 at hobby lobby! So, the total cost was about $2.50, INCLUDING THE RIBBON. What a deal for a cute pair of summer shoes!
You can learn how to make your own flip flops using the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions. You can find them at www.5thavenuebowtique.com.
5th Avenue Bowtique Corker Hair Bow Instructions- so easy!
I have been blogging all week about the new hair bow instructions we have come out with here are 5th Avenue Bowtique! Of course, we are not new to hair bow instruction- our Houston, Tx. classroom has seen over 1,000 students. There are over 350 pages of instructions within the ebook, covering many topics including all types of bows- basic bows, custom bows, corker bows, and more. I want to take a minute to talk about our corker bow instructions.
Now, there are some different ways you can make corker bows. The one important thing for you to understand is that your “goal” in making a corker bow should be to end up with a puffy ball of curled ribbon that is perfectly (or almost perfectly) symmetrical on all sides. There are a couple of different ways you can go about doing this; some are a little more complicated than others. Some people are determined to sew each and every piece of ribbon down and turned to the exact side. Most hair bow instructions cover this method. The problem is that this technique is extremely time intensive, and, honestly, is enough to drive you nuts after you make 5 or 10 of these bows. With my experience holding wholesale accounts with several boutiques, I can say confidently that this method takes FOREVER, and, I simply have no patience for it. So, this is why the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions offer a more simple, faster, and easier way to teach you how to make a corker hair bow.
The instructions discuss the specifics, but the important point to understand is that, once the corkers have been curled, you can literally tie together your corker in about 90 seconds- a huge time savings compared to your diligently sewing competitors. Due to the nature of corker hair bows, the crowded and fluffy ribbon naturally creates the perfectly puffy ball. There really is no need to sew down each ribbon to create the “perfect” dome shaped puff.
You can find the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions online at www.5thavenuebowtique.com. They are a downloadable PDF file that allows you to learn how to make hair bows at home in just a few hours!
Important Supplies! 5th Avenue Bowtique Hair Bow Instructions

I want to talk a minute today about the importance of gathering the right supplies before attempting to make your own hair bows. After you purchase a copy of hair bow instructions from 5th Avenue Bowtique, you should take a bit of time to make sure you have the right materials lined up. The bow instructions clearly explain a small list of products that will help you create fabulous bows. I want to highlight two products, specifically, because they are especially important in order for you to create awesome, full and loopy looking bows. Without the proper supplies, you simply will not achieve the same results.
The 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions clearly call for a low heat glue gun (READ- not multi-temp, or high temp…check the wattage on the side of your glue gun. It should also have the corresponding label) and grosgrain ribbon while you are a newbie. Now, if you are like many of our Houston, Tx. area students, you may have splurged on a fancy, high heat glue gun already, which you have used for other projects. If you’re thinking you can get by using this for hair bow making, you’re wrong. Do yourself a favor and follow the suggestion in our instructions- purchase the cheap, $2 mini low heat glue gun. The low heat temp is not hot enough to give you blisters, and, you’re less likely to quit if you don’t burn your little fingers.
Second- why do the instructions call for grosgrain ribbon? Well, grosgrain ribbon creates a nice, full bodied bow. This is one thing we require in our Houston, Tx. hair bow class. All students work with grosgrain ribbon in the hair bow class and we recommend they use grosgrain ribbon for the first 10-15 bows at home. When you make the creases to create your loops, the ribbon will be “perky” and loopy…just how you want while you’re pre-occupied with trying to make sure your loops are the same size and shape. If you ignore this tip and use organza or satin for your beginning bows, you’re project will end with flattened bows and lessened motivation. However, as your comfort level is raised, organza and satin bows will be simple for you. Again, give yourself 10-15 grosgrain bows to practice on before moving on.
How can you tell what width grosgrain ribbon to buy? This is simple- the more narrow the ribbon, the smaller the hair bow! 3/8″ ribbon- infant bow (about 2″ across), 5/8″ ribbon- small bow (about 2.5″ across), 7/8″ ribbon- medium bow (about 3″ across), 1.5″ ribbon- large bow (about 4″ across), 2.25″ ribbon- x-large bow (about 5″ across). You can purchase the 5th Avenue Bowtique ebook to find the specific measurements you will need to make hair bows as well as many more projects. 5th Avenue Bowtique Hair Bow Instructions online vs our houston, tx class

During the time I spent writing the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions, I was very concerned that these internet based instructions would not live up to the reputation established in our Houston, Tx. hands on hair bow classes. After all, over the past 5 years, we have had over 1,000 students come through our doors, and have reached a high rate of success in teaching hair bow instruction to countless numbers of people. So, I had put off this project because of my concern that the ebook would not do an appropriate job of what I know was necessary in order to move a student along the right path to success.
Last summer, though, I did finally decide it was worth the shot. I began thinking of all of the questions and problems that are brought up in each hair bow class- honestly, I see a whole different group of people, but the same questions come up every time- because I wanted to include them in the hair bow instructions offered online.
But, while writing the 350 page document, I remained skeptical that I could do an adequate job. Why? Because of the countless students I have met who have been “burned” by the instructions they’ve purchased before meeting me. Whether they spent $5, $15, or $40 on instructions before scouring the internet and finding the 5th Avenue Bowtique program, by the time they find me, they are determined that the “hands on” experience is the ONLY way. So, it is a long shot to re-gain their trust and explain that the 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions are different.
Why would they be different? Well, for starters, our method is based on teaching real people. I am yet to find any other hair bow instructions that have been written by an author who has actually taught real people to make bows, much less someone who has taught many people to make hair bows! We have no wasted words, photos, pages that confuse or misguide.
The ebook was published about 3 weeks ago, which has been a great amount of work. In honest, this was a massive undertaking to write these hair bow Instructions; the 600+ photos were a solid 12 hour project, not to mention the preparation prior to the photo shoot as well as actually writing the 350+ pages of the instructions. So, I have been essentially holding my breath waiting for feedback on whether I wasted my time!
Enter Marie, and the first feedback I have received. Marie is a self proclaimed “non-crafty” mom with the desire to make her own bows…and, after spending a short amount of time with the instructions and practicing making a few bows, she contacted me and sent along a few photos. All I have to say is “WOW!” First off, Marie’s bows were completely proportional and symmetrical…also, she achieved “loopy”, fluffy layers, which can be difficult for some students to pick up at first. I was completely impressed by Marie’s bows. Specifically, she achieved our knotting technique perfectly, and shaping her loops for proportion, symmetry, and fullness! All around, she kicked out some awesome bows and VERY quickly too!
I have to say, if this is any indication of the quality of the 5th Avenue Bowtique ebook instructions, I am extremely pleased. I think they will be a great tool in the future for virtual students. I also plan to use them in conjunction with Houston area classes. I think these students will benefit greatly from practicing at home before meeting in person!

Hair Bow Instructions Pdf *Ideas for Downloading your guide*
I am getting requests for the ebook hair bow instructions just about every day. I am feeling pretty great about my decision to write the ebook and share the 5th Avenue Bowtique Program with internet based students. I do have one suggestion about the ebook that I believe will help students who purchase the pdf instructions.
The hair bow instructions are almost 300 pages altogether. This includes over 600 high quality photos. When I say high quality, I mean the highest quality. Photos were taken by a photographer who has photographed for Time magazine and created advertising campaigns for countless household names from Continental Airlines to American Express.
These instructions are set up in 16 chapters plus 3 appendices. So, here’s a suggestion- print out one chapter at a time as you work on each project! This will likely help keep you organized while reading your instructions!
Another option- you may not want to print your instructions at all. Gather your materials and a seat near your computer and follow along with the photos on your computer.
The 5th Avenue Bowtique hair bow instructions can be found at www.5thavenuebowtique.com. 5th Avenue Bowtique began teaching hair bow classes in 2007. Since then, there have been over 1,000 students that have attended our “hands on” class in the Houston, Tx. area. We are now able to offer this ebook for distance learning, which gives us the ability to offer our curriculum to students everywhere!
Yesterday I had a chance to catch up with a friend who recently learned to make bows using my ebook! I am so impressed! Immediately, after sitting down with her, I asked her if I could watch her make a bow using the information given to her in the 5th Avenue Bowtique PDF ebook. I wanted to know how well it worked prior to working with her more.
As she shaped the loops, I became very proud! It is clear that the 5th Avenue Bowtique ebook is going to be a great success! I think it will be even more successful than our popular Houston area hair bow classes! She was able to achieve the same results (if not better) prior to seeing me in person! There was very little for me to correct. Essentially, the $12 internet based instructions saved her time, money, and effort. This is great news! Now, students all around the world will be able to learn the 5th Avenue Bowtique method and avoid the frustration of methods that simply do not work!
The 5th Avenue Bowtique method, which which our hair bow ebook is based, is our exclusive program. It was developed by a mother who taught herself to make bows. The program does not involve sewing or using wire to wrap around the bows. Instead, students learn to shape one loop at a time, allowing much control over size and shape/symmetry, which makes the learning process much more successful.
