I haven’t had as much time as I would like to play around with this latest current release. I have a lot of other projects I am working on at the moment. But, based on what I have read and seen it is becoming much more pleasant and friendly to work with when compared to early Dolphin 7.0.x releases.

Just how many more Dolphin 7.0.x versions we will see before the big 8.0.x is unclear yet.

In case you missed it Boonex released Dolphin 7.0.7 on August 1st, 2011. It is said to contain mostly bug fixes, but also improvements to overall usability and user friendliness. There is a good chance that there are a few security updates or patches thrown in there too.

At the time of this posting it looks like Boonex will also release a Dolphin version 7.0.8 in the near future. You can plainly see it listed over at Boonex Trac here:

Just how many more versions we will see before they switch to Dolphin 7.1 or Dolphin 8.0 nobody knows for sure.

A lot of people are anxious to see a new version come out, but I am hoping and would like to see a very stable and solid 7.0.x version before moving on to the next.

This latest version is close.

The thing about Dolphin is there are so many features included in the script that it would be extremely difficult to release something perfect. I don’t know if any script maker can say theirs is 100% bug free and perfect. There are definitely some that are closer than others though.

I am not ready to jump into the next Boonex Dolphin version yet. I don’t look forward to starting the entire bug fixing process over again.

It appears as though we might see a Boonex Dolphin 7.0.7 addition or upgrade in the near future. I noticed that Boonex has posted this milestone in the Trac section of their website.

It has been there for sometime now, so know idea how long it will be or if we will see Dolphin 7.0.7 at all, but it looks like we should.

There are currently 21 tickets for this version. 18 are open or active, and 3 have been closed. I really haven’t seen much action or changes for this Dolphin milestone version lately.

It could be Boonex is spending the majority of their time working on Dolphin 7.1 or updating and working a few bugs out of the new Boonex Unity website design and layout.

At any rate I will continue to watching for updates regarding new releases.

Boonex has been taking public debate regarding their up and coming Dolphin 7.1 version. Although there are some good points and suggestions mentioned I still don’t foresee this being release for some time yet.

When I look at Boonex Trac for Milestone Dolphin 7.1 there are a lot of tickets 236 total actually at the time of this posting. 147 active and open. 89 closed, updated, or resolved.

So although some people are anticipating it already, it would seem like it will be a while.

There is definitely a number of things they could fix in Dolphin 7.0 yet. It would be nice if Boonex would address a few more issues with this version first before jumping into another version already.

I guess time will tell until then we will just have to wait until they fill us in with more details.

Boonex recently released Dolphin version 7.0.6 along with an upgrade pack for users of version 7.0.5. Which includes mostly security and bug fixes. Like most software scripts any time an upgrade or patch addresses security issues it is a good idea to apply it.

If you are interested in a social networking or dating type of web site packed with a ton of features you really should check out Boonex Dolphin in your spare time. It is very impressive, and can be used for a variety of web sites and ideas.

Boonex recently released Dolphin 7.0.5 which includes a number of bug fixes. As well as video quality improvements, mysql connection issues, speed optimizations, security updates, and more.

It is not clear yet if this will be the final version of Dolphin 7.0x series or not. It does seem like it is probably nearing the last stages before they move on to 7.1x Dolphin series.

If you are not familiar with Boonex Dolphin you can download and install it free. The free version will have links to Boonex at the bottom of the site, and a paid licensed version will remove them. But, to check and test it out for free without dropping any money into licensing you really can’t beat that.

Boonex recently release Dolphin version 7.0.4. Which, has numerous bug fixes, security updates, and a new anti-spam feature.

If you have been thinking about starting a social networking site this new release and update might be for you.

Preliminary tests suggest it is very stable, and so far minimal bugs or issues have been reported.

Since you can use and install it for free without purchasing a license it certainly worth checking out and looking into.

Boonex released Dolphin 7.0.3 on September 29th, 2010. This latest version address a large assortment of bugs, as well as speed improvements, security, and more.

Dolphin 7 is slowly progressing into a more stable and suitable environment, but still needs additional updates to work out more bugs and kinks yet.

Dolphin 7.0.4 Milestone

Sometimes I love Boonex Dolphin, and other times I hate it. When it performing well things tend to run smooth and great. When you want to make a few changes or modifications it can be a total nightmare. And, I am referring to basic simple changes that should only take seconds. For some reason with Dolphin something that should only take seconds can turn into hours worth of work.

Still it’s a fun script to use. You do need time and patience. If you are not a patient person, then it’s probably not for you!

Boonex recently released Dolphin 7.0.3 Beta. I am not sure what the thinking is with a Beta which isn’t even upgradeable. This particular version is only for testing. They clearly state that there will be no upgrade for it.

All I can figure or assume Boonex did this for was to get others to test it out, so they wouldn’t have to. Which I guess is alright, but it is a bit misleading. I would suspect someone will install this version, and will want to upgrade in the future which will most likely cause problems.

I usually don’t bother or mess with beta’s. Even more so when they are not upgradeable. But, I decided to check it out and see what it had to offer. I haven’t spent too much time with it yet. It installed fast and smooth as expected, but I quickly realized Dolphin 7.0.3 Beta has some issues with the caching feature. Once I disable caching in the Administration area things started working, and running smoother.

I will continue playing with this Beta in my spare time, which is pretty limited right now. Hopefully they work a few more kinks out of it, and release a Dolphin 7.0.3 final or stable version in the near future. I am expecting, or hoping anyway that it will happen before the end of October.
