Deca Durabolin is the rand name Organon uses for Nandrolone Decanoate. Deca first became available in 1962 as a prescribed medication.

Nandrolone is also referred to as 19-nortestosterone, as it it is similar to testosterone but is mission a carbon atom at the 19th position. This makes Deca is less androgenic than testosterone. The problem with testosterone is that they breakdown becoming less potent. Nandrolone breaks down into dihydronandrolone which is a less potent metabolite in androgen target tissues. The breakdown occurs through a 5-alpha reductase enzyme that creates DHT.

Deca Side Effects

Deca has low androgenic side effects although it is possible possible with high doses. Estrogen related side effects are also low. Because Nandrolone does not have an high tendency to convert into estrogen there is usually very low water retention while on this steroid.

Because of the problems of erectile disfunction with deca it is recommended to be taken with a testosterone.

Post Cycle Therapy

Post cycle therapy is absolutely necesary when using deca. Begin your Pst three weeks after finishing your cycle. Clomid or Nolvadex is recommended for a few weeks after your cycle. HCG should also be added to stimulate the body into producing its own natural testosterone.
