Cleveland Hibore Driver
The Cleveland HiBore has been a great asset to Jerry Kelly and Vijay Singh (among others) on the PGA tour on there road to victory. One of the first geometry-based drivers on the market, the Cleveland HiBORE has changed the shape of the tee game and set the tone for what has become a new era in driver head shape. Now in its second version, the Cleveland HiBORE XL and XL TOUR attempts to prove once again that Cleveland is “Taking Distance Driven Geometry to a New Level.” The HiBORE XL draws a lot of attention. After all, a former #1 ranked golfer and two-time winner in 2007 plays it: Vijay Singh. Vijay went away from the original HiBORE last year in favor of the 460 Comp only to come back to it and win the XL this year at the Mercedes Championships and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. We are not sure if the original HiBORE is to blame for Vijay’s down year in 2006 but judging by 2007 it could have been, but the driving show Vijay put on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer is proof that the HiBORE XL is well worth it. Of course, most of us are no Vijay Singh. We are simple-minded golfers with a 10-15 index who get off the tee fairly well most of the time. Try the Cleveland HiBore and with a little practice you will be cutting quite a few strokes off your handicap.

Hybrid Golf Clubs
The 1, 2, 3, and 4-iron are no longer popular they are pretty much dead. The word “hybrid” isn’t only used in the car industry these days .The golf industry’s hybrid is a relatively new club that is a cross between a fairway wood (or metal) and a long iron. I have had a few hybrid clubs and I have settled with a 21-degree steel shafted Cleveland Halo Hybrid. It is a great club. It is probably the most versatile club in my bag. I use it for short shots off the tee, can hit it from the middle of the fairway or in the rough and I actually use it at times to chip. It does it all! It is extremely easy to hit (especially compared to typical long irons), looks good, and is really pretty inexpensive in golf terms. About the only negative is its look, it is an odd looking club compared to the normal iron. However these days a lot of PGA players have the hybrids in their bags. Golf can be a tough game and if you don’t have the right equipment in your bag don’t expect to get any better. The “short game” has always been a place that golfers tend to lose the most strokes, but there is another area that has consistently causing problems as well. The long irons long irons are tough to hit even for the pros and especially for the amateurs they have a hard time controlling their 3 and 4 irons and dont even think about carrying a 2 iron. The majority of us struggle on longer par 3’s or long approach shots on par 4’s. Hybrid Golf Clubs were first introduced in the late 1990’s but didn’t become popular in the United States until recently. Now almost everyone I play with has at least 1 hybrid or utility club in their bag and they seem to really speak highly of it.
